COMPUTER GUIDED IMPLANTS SURGERY

The incorporation of this technology to our practice provides us with three-dimensional information on the width and density of your jawbone, the exact location of neighboring teeth roots, and location of the nerves, securing the best outcome even before treatment begins.

In his computer lab Dr. Luciano can virtually prepare your treatment with the greatest detail and you will receive a much safer and comfortable treatment. A customized surgical guide is the link between virtual implant planning, and actual treatment, hence its immense advantages over traditional methods.

With this method gums can often be left intact for faster healing helping to a much more comfortable post-operative stage. It is a painless dental implant treatment, providing safety, predictability, maximum comfort, and the most important, no surprises.

DIGITAL X-RAYS

We are proud to offer our patients the benefits of the latest technology available in the world of digital radiography. By using digital X rays, the amount of radiation used is greatly reduced, and the results can be viewed immediately, thus reducing the length of some appointments.

The image quality is outstanding, and we are able to view the enhanced image on the computer to aid in difficult diagnoses. It is also a great way for our patients to be more involved with their treatment decisions, as we can have discussions about treatment needs with both of us seeing the same image on the computer screen.

CAD/ CAM CROWNS

Through CAD / CAM (Computer Aided Design - Computer Aided Manufacturing) CEREC of Sirona Dental Systems, we can make all the teeth in our private laboratory, using ceramic blocks of Vita Ceramics. These blocks have proved their effectiveness in millions of clinical cases, and have a behavior similar to natural tooth enamel, plus they can be etched excellently and polished with great ease.

The CAD / CAM CEREC of Sirona Dental Systems is the most widely used software in the United States and around the world for the development of teeth, using a modern machine. It will automatically carve the ceramic block in any way necessary, allowing us to work faster and better.

This system provides on-site solutions from the digital mold up to the process of carving the internal dental piece, which allows us to create accurate teeth. Through a patented scientific method, this system allows for the first time to create dental restorations molded to the individual nature of each patient and, in turn, amenable to measurement.

In this way, and thanks also to the type of ceramic blocks used, we can ensure that the implants done by Dr. Luciano will be very natural, and tailored to the color and shape wanted. In fact, the translucency of the ceramic blocks used, allows us to seamlessly integrate the restorations made with the remaining teeth, while the color of the pieces can be individually prepared.

CBCT SCAN

Truly one of the most important imaging and diagnostic breakthroughs in modern dentistry, cone beam CT provides 3D images of the jaw structures and teeth, with extraordinary accuracy and detail. It has become the gold standard for patient care in implant dentistry.

The 3D images enable us to plan our surgery so we are able to avoid causing damage to nerves and to vital structures, including blood vessels and the sinuses.

Virtual surgery can be performed and evaluated before actually surgery takes place. And since we have our own CBCT machine, we can, during a delicate surgical procedure, stop to take an additional scan, if warranted. This gives us the ability to maintain the safest possible conditions, even in the most difficult surgical situations.

Dr. Luciano Retana’s office is one of the few dental practices to provide cone beam CT in the office. Most practices have to send their patients to an outside imaging center.

This equipment defines “state of the art”. Our cone beam CT, operated by our expertly trained staff, offers maximum convenience, safety and precision.
